Pictures of Aria to follow soon JULY 2007 28 July Bambi is inseminated with Sambertino semen 25 July Elana is scanned in foal to Milky Way 11 July A very brief let up in the rain gives us enough of a window to cut and bale around 20 acres of haylage. 2 June Nutmeg inseminated with Milky Way semen MAY 2007 29 May Lozanna scanned in foal to Treliver Decanter and Phantom scanned in foal to Walentino. Lets hope these pregnancies have happier endings for these two lovely ladies Tallulah is DNA tested and confirmed to be carrying the cream gene 24 May Cocoa scanned in foal to Milky Way 22 May Bringing the 2007 foaling season to a close Bambi foals down a couple of days late - a big handsome bay colt, it's definitely been a colt year!
18 May In the middle of the afternoon Ballerina finally foals - 10 days late. She has had a bad abcess and last night it popped - so perhaps because her foot was no longer hurting her she was able to get down to the more pressing business of giving birth! A beautiful black filly - who will spot out as she grows as she has characteristics of late spotting
17 May Kossette inseminated with Hamlet semen 14 May For those who have been asking Leo basically got himself stuck under a root - we think he lay down and then stretched out on his side, slipping one leg under the root some time in the night. When he went to get up he couldn't and panicked...2 theories from there...Vet says he may have simply been unable to feed and because it was wet and cold and he was on wet ground he died of hypothermia. Or he may have broken his neck trying to get free... Here is a picture of how he was stuck - it's not gory but shows how much of a freak accident it was...you would not have thought that was strong enough to pin a big foal like Leo to the ground, but Chris couldn't lift it off him so it was strong. 14 May Jemima foals in the night, a bright chestnut colt by RID stallion Sandy's Light...This baby does not belong to us, he belongs to Sue Giles, who came up in the small hours to help get the lazy little man up and suckling
13 May It seems some things were not meant to be. Tragically our wonderful coloured colt foal Leo died in a freak accident in the field yesterday, at just 6 weeks old. It's hard to put into words how it feels to lose not just one, but two such special foals. Like Caspar, Leo will be very muh missed here at Rollestone. Here's hoping the rest of the season brings no more sadness 10 May Valmis inseminated by Walentino and Lozanna inseminated by Treliver Decanter 8 May 2 days early Nutmeg foals down - and what a cracker - another BIG Centyfor colt, with some beautiful splodges
4 May Cascade scanned in foal to Rhondeo 3 May (Just!!) 2 Minutes before midnight Eclipse foals and has a smart bay colt
Cocoa and Kachina scanned not in foal so we are trying again this cycle. Cocoa inseminated today but Kachina not quite ready yet 1 May Some good news after the sadness at the weekend. Tifany Gold takes us all by surprise and foals in the field (away from the cameras so perhaps she was shy!) and has a beautiful filly foal
APRIL 2007 29 April It is with a heavy heart that we have to report that we have lost our beautiful palomino colt Valetto Diaz. Tragically he succombed to 'joint ill', and was put to sleep this afternoon at just 12 days old. So friendly and such a handsome young man he will be sorely missed. 26 April Arctic Dancing Queen gives us our first filly of 2007 - a pretty dark bay with her sire Figiel's trademark star!
22 April An exciting new addition to the Rollestone broodmares, Ari is a 6 year old cremello WB currently in Germany who will be joining us in June with her buckskin filly by Lennox at foot. Ari will be covered by Granatnik, sire of Centyfield Figiel and of our 2005 filly Rollestone Lolita
17 April Cocoa returns home from stud Valmis gives birth to a beautiful palomino colt at 12.30am after a very quick and straightforward labour.
14 April Centyfield Cascade is inseminated with Rhondeo semen
13 April Sonny's Kachina is inseminated with Woodlander Rockstar semen
10 April New broodmare Cocoa (details to follow shortly) is dropped off at stud to be covered by Milky Way 5 April Marstacre Ballerina colicked badly while 4 months pregnant and we very nearly lost her. A scan 2 weeks after the colic confirmed she was still in foal. However at 7 months pregnant she was not looking as big as I would have expected so we had her blood tested by a vet and the results came back negative - she wasn't in foal......HOWEVER....these past couple of weeks I have been looking at her and looking at her and the more I looked the more in foal she looked to me. A manual exam from the vet today (who'd actually come out to jab her into season ready for insemination next week) confirmed that not only is she in foal but that baby is alive (and kicking!) in there!! 3 Apr Holme Park Kossette gives birth to a stunning blanket spotted colt at 1.30 am
MARCH 2007 25 Mar Lozannna produces a big strong coloured colt at 3.15am
18 Mar Chris is now a DEFRA approved AI Technician and will be inseminating our mares this coming season 14 Mar Typical - with both Lozanna and Cascade both due to foal imminently I had to make a choice which to put in the foaling box with the camera in - and of course I chose the wrong one!! Centyfield Cascade gives birth to a coloured colt at 1am this morning, 1 down, 9 to go! More piccies to follow
FEB 2007 21 Feb Centyfield Cascade's DNA test results come back and she is confirmed as being homozygous for the tobiano gene - meaning she will always throw coloured foals 19 Feb 2 in foal mares, Valmis and Tiffany Gold arrive from Czechoslovakia and Germany respectively - More info and pictures within the next few days

The foal will belong to her current owner, but Jemima will be covered in 2007 for a 2008 Rollestone foal - Pics and info to follow 6 Feb A cremello Warmblood broodmare is bought from Czechoslovakia, also a buckskin sabino Slovakian Warmblood mare - They should arrive in the next week or so...
